VersaTech awarded an 8(a) Stars II contract
VersaTech’s Joint Venture, SVD Stars II, was one of the awardees selected to be on the 8(a) STARS II GWAC. The 8(a) STARS II GWAC was awarded on July 29, 2011, and is designed to promote the use of small businesses when purchasing IT services or solutions for the federal government. This contract vehicle offers benefits to both small business IT vendors and the federal government. For the small businesses, it provides a contract vehicle with a five-year base to receive IT services tasks as the needs arise within federal agencies, thereby shortening the procurement process time. For the federal government, it provides quick and easy access to prescreened and proven 8(a) small business technology vendors with competitive pricing and technical proficiency, and therefore mitigates some risk.
Furthermore, the 8(a) STARS II GWAC has a $10 billion dollar program ceiling and can be used by various agencies across the federal government to procure IT services from small businesses. The 8(a) STARS II GWAC consists of two tiers that a vendor can be placed within based on industry accreditations: Constellation I and Constellation II. Constellation I includes partners with competitive pricing and technical proficiency, and Constellation II includes industry partners who have competitive pricing, technical proficiency, and an additional industry credential. VersaTech is proud to announce we were awarded in all functional categories and in both constellations.
